How we help Empowering Women Scholars Empowering women scholars Women from poor and disadvantaged backgrounds, particularly in rural communities, face challenges of inequality, marginalisation, lack of support for higher education, unemployment and a lack of accessible role models. We help our women scholars support themselves, their families and we provide funding for projects that make a difference to their local communities. The purpose of the LST women's association is therefore to: Empower our women scholars, encouraging positive independence, and enable them to become role models. Provide a support network to mentor and assist fellow scholars and the wider family of LST women. Help others less fortunate with projects that improve the well-being and confidence of young women, and support the wider LST community. Mentor young girls by encouraging them to speak out and share their problems. Projects On 12 October 2019 the ladies group visited the Sanata children's home near Langalanga to cook for the children and hand out gifts. Our women scholars and alumni are very keen to support projects which will 'give back' to the Gilgil and Langalanga communities and strengthen women in the community. If you want to support our ladies in any one of their future activities or contribute to the good work that they do then please consider a donation.
